Steps to reproduce:
- Create an empty database:
  e.g. mysql -u root -p -e""DROP DATABASE IF EXISTS test; CREATE DATABASE IF NOT EXISTS test; GRANT ALL ON test.* TO myth@""%"" IDENTIFIED BY ""myth""; FLUSH PRIVILEGES;""
- Create mysql.txt file specifying host and database just created
- Run mythtv-setup and create a minimal setup
- Run mythbackend
- Run mythfrontend, GUI appears but SEGV occurs immediately.  Repeated attempts to start the fe all end with a SEGV.
