To be precise, the routine Scheduler::CheckShutdownServer in scheduler.cpp (part of the backend code) is never invoked. I instrumented the code with logging statements and checked the logs files.

Steps to reproduce:

- Compile mythtv 0.26 on stock Ubuntu 12.10
- Execute backend as usual
