Description
Attempting to watch any video from a remote frontend (recordings, other videos) always fails after a period of time with "Video frame buffering failed too many times". The log is littered with the message
Player(0): Waited 100ms for video buffers AAAAAAAAUAUAUUUUUUUuAuAALAAAAAA
This is older hardware (Athlon 64 3200+, Nvidia FX 5200) but had been working fine as a 0.22 frontend/backend for several years before the upgrade. This leads me to believe that a software change is the culprit. It really looks like some sort of deadlock is happening, but I'm at a loss on how to track it down. Excerpt of frontend log is attached.

Please start by seeking help on the mythtv-users mailing list. There is nothing here that indicates an obvious MythTV bug-- rather, we have a very momentary excerpt of a log, and based on the problem description, quite probably a misconfiguration.
Please start on the mailing list, and then if requested by a MythTV developer or if an obvious bug is uncovered, we can progress to a ticket.
