Problem with MythGallery Transitions

Description
If I select certain transitions such as Fade or Ken Burns, when I start a slideshow, the screen becomes white throughout the entire slideshow - no pictures, no transition. However, other transitions such as Blend or Zoom Blend work as expected.
If I select a non-working transition and run a slideshow, all subsequent transitions will not work including Blend and Zoom Blend. A front end restart is required to even get Blend and Zoom Blend to work again.
