Services SendAction API doesn't stop screensaver

Description

Using a custom remote app which calls the Services SendAction API to send key presses like UP, DOWN etc the Frontend menu selection changes as expected.

However once my xscreensaver kicks in the SendAction API calls don't disable the screensaver which means the menu changes but the screensaver covers the screen. I have to type a key or move the mouse to stop the screensaver.
