I wasn't easily able to tell what movies were flagged as recorded, or were going to be recorded in future and this lead to a lot of times where I flagged the same show twice.

I came up with a quick and dirty patch against current SVN, not the ideal solution, but it does solve my problem.

Please separate code from interface (ie. no queries in the display code), and use the db handler referenced by all recent mythweb code.

The code I post was an example of what could work, I didn't expect it to be taken verbatium. In any case closing this bug is pointless since there has been no solution commited.

You have been politely asked by the maintainer to rework your patch to make it suitable for inclusion in myth. If you wish to see it in myth, please do so.

Let me rephrase, I'm not trying to get my patch into myth, I don't have the time/inclination to learn how to do things the right way.

I was suggesting a feature, not suggesting my patch be used, the only reason I uploaded what I had was a proof of concept of what I was hoping to see in myth.

If you guys persist in closing this bug, that's your perogative, but it tends to sour people from bothering to make suggestions in future.

There are numerous places for making code suggestions - trac is for code that you wish to commit. Perhaps copying to the dev list or on IRC first. There is no intention to dissuade from suggestions - its just a bit annoying when Trac is used. You could also list it here:

If sphery is correct, I'll be applying his patch shortly. If he is not, leave this ticket closed unless there is good code, or create a new ticket that actually describes what's going wrong.
