ac3 passthrough for internal player fails on certain hardware

Description

When playing an ac3 file or ac3 dvd, ac3 passthrough starts for <1 second and then disables itself. same file works with xine. if i turn off ac3 passthrough I get sound. All sound is via spdif. The alsa device can be set to ALSA:default ALSA:spdif ALSA:iec958 all to no effect. I have tested on 2 sound devices, usb-audio and hda-intel. As mentioned this does work in xine with the same files so it would appear to be how myth is implementing this negotiation, as it does appear to work and then fails. This is all with the current svn.

Applied 1104 as per stanley's request but this doesn't make a difference it is still trying to negotiate with the receiver and failing.
