Description
I have made some looking around on the web and in this ticket system trying to find this issue but i haven't found anything.
I use "hdparm -S 244" to spin down my 400Gb hard drive when not in use. This results in a 2h waiting period before spindown. The disk is used for music storage, live-tv, video etc but the mysql database and the operating system is on another device.
If I tell my backend system, which is a dedicated server, to record shows once every week there are no problems whatsoever. The backend manages to spin-up the drive and record the show. However, if I happen to activate LiveTV as the first call to the mythbackend it will crash. I can avoid crashing the backend by going to "watch recordings" which will spin-up the drive and then show me a clip of selected recording in the list. I have tried going in to mythmusic and mythvideo as well as mythgallery before running Live-TV which all works fine.
I have experimented with the server disk and set it to spin down after 5 seconds and it seems like going to live-tv when the disk is powered down is a great way to crash the backend.

We need a backtrace to fix crashes.
