Internal DVD player hangs on some titles

Description
DVD playback hangs on some of my titles with the message reported in ticket #1104. See logs attached - one for Linear deint and another for Greedy.
The reason behind deinterlacer change is to fight the video stuttering and blinking. Switching deinterlacing manually resolves video stuttering and blinking, but not the hang. For some reason most (if not all) of my DVDs are detected as interlaced, even though many of them are not.
Also, I've seen frontend crashing where it otherwise hang, but it is not easy to reproduce...

I meant "switching off" deinterlacing.

I've just added another log where frontend segfaulted switching titles on some other DVD. Please let me know if you need a backtrace - I'll rebuild it in debug mode...

please run the latest svn trunk or if you are using 0.21 fixes apply all the changesets in #4902.
report your findings after that.
