LIRC jump-to channel numbers causes segfault

Description
attached is the backtrace. When entering numbers in the guide, the guide does respond to single numbers - e.g. 2 jumps to 2, 7 jumps to 7, but not to 27. Eventually a segfault will occur.
Using VDPAU - did not try in ffmpeg decoder setup.
Using select to change channels does not work as well - it still brings up the recording menu regardless of checkbox status in setup.
I am using mythbuntu's version lirc - lircd 0.8.3pre1.

Re-tested with 19692 and this issue is still there. When entering numbers a _ is inserted between each number 'sometimes' it will change the channel, but most of the time it will not. Entering numbers in guide do not jump too channels. Confirmed lirc and number entry is working properly in other areas of Mythtv.

A lock was added months ago, this should be fixed now.
