Backend selection prompt randomly displays

Description
MythBackend randomly displays or conversely doesn't display. Usually the first time the backend is accessed the Menu displays. However, if you go out and then try to re-access the backend, a blank background is displayed without the Menu. Activating the Enter button takes you to the Host Address Backend setup, that is the second page of the General heading. Activating Esc, then displays the Menu.

No response in 4 weeks, almost definitely fixed by the myth_system/etc. fixes.

The backend selection prompt will be displayed when your $HOME/.mythtv/config.xml or (one or more of your) mysql.txt (files) is missing or contains wrong information. Please check every single config.xml and mysql.txt file on your computer and verify that they are all correct. If you have none, please configure one (and feel free to ask for help doing so on the mailing list). After that, please let us know whether you still see problems. Thanks.
