On one of my local networks in Austin, KTBC-DT, any shows that are syndicated, locally taped in non HD and commercial breaks will not play smoothly. The digital audio receiver hooked up to the box keeps switching in and out of digital modes and the picture jumps.

Did you ever test this against 0.25, and using the software decoders rather than VDPAU?

Do they play smoothly with other applications - ffplay, mplayer or vlc? If there is an issue at a local syndicate it might be worth contacting them since they may be able to fix it at their end.
