Description
0.24-fixes (version: fixes/0.24 [v0.24-199-g5367795]) frontend has been acting up quite a bit lately. Today it crashed with a core dump (stack trace attached). I will also attach the frontend log for the evening before the crash.

Please update when you have a backtrace available, marking infoneeded for the time being.

Whoops, sorry, I had misread, I see that it's attached. Please read the ticket howto, however, as you should not set priority, severity, etc.

Can you please try and catch another crash but using 'mythfrontend -v playback' verbosity to capture the logs. The actual location of the crash in your first bt makes no sense, which suggests a memory corruption issue which could either be thread related (unlikely in this case) or an out of memory issue (which correlates with the VDPAU error messages you are seeing).
What video card and driver version are you using and how much memory does that card have? (There are certain recent versions of the NVidia driver that leak memory)

OK. I have enabled it. We just wait for a crash now.
What video card
ION in a Revo 1600.
and driver version are you using
(II) NVIDIA GLX Module 195.36.24 Thu Apr 22 10:38:29 PDT 2010
and how much memory does that card have?
256M. And I know where you are going to go but it's been running fine that way for probably more than a year now. I only watch SDTV.

As you can see by the version number, I have not updated that driver in quite a while. If it ain't broke, don't fix it and all. :-)

No log submitted (and for the record, our minimum supported GPU memory for VDPAU is still 512 MB IIRC)
