#9878 closed Bug Report - Crash (fixed)

cannot change audio channel on DVD (.iso) playback

Reported by: hrabbach@… Owned by: JYA
Priority: minor Milestone: 0.25.4
Component: MythTV - DVD Playback Version: 0.24.1
Severity: medium Keywords:
Cc: Ticket locked: no

Description

When trying to play DVD .iso files that worked perfectly on my old 0.23 system, those videos that have several audio tracks will only play one of them (unfortunately the director's comments). Switching audio tracks results in no change and sometimes a crash of mythfrontend. I'll attach a logfile of the latest incident, during which playback started with the wrong track, I changed to what I believe was the right track once (but it kept playing the wrong one), then tried to switch again, at which point mythfrontend crashed and restarted.

Just to add to this, the same thing also happens with the original DVDs that the ISOs were made from. I just got the frontend with the DVD drive back from the repair shop, so couldn't test it earlier. That means it's not just ISOs that show this kind of behavior.

I'm running mythbuntu 0.25.2 and I can verify this bug.

While trying to determine why DVS (descriptive video service) was always playing on DVDs, I found that changing the setup language (audio) track to Espanol 5.1 fixed the problem (I got English 5.1, in other words). Turns out that if you select track N, you actually get track (N - 1) played when you return to the menu.

But over and above that (more to this bug), if you play the movie under one track, then change the track and try to play again, it crashes at that point.

I'll upload frontend log demonstrating this.
