Adding frontend log around crash. Not sure what you mean by "console". I am including the area around the crash from the console message file (/var/log/messages on ubuntu).

Hmmm, this is not what I was looking for, unfortunately. What I meant by "console" is the window that you started mythfrontend from. It does seem to be crashing as loading the plugins for mythbrowser. This may not be at all related to mythnews, and may just be a broken plugin (seems Flash is one that causes no end of pain).
Does this still occur? If so, could you try to get me another backtrace/logs and also any messages it spews on the window you started mythfrontend from...

I went into the BBC World News and the CNN World News and tried every article, none of which crashed mythbrowser. There have been at least two flash updates from Conical since I filed this ticket as well as updating MythTV several times.
At least from my experience, you can close this ticket as either fixed or works-for-me. I'll be glad to reopen if the problem resurfaces.
As an aside, none of the flash (imbedded video) in these news articles would work. Using a mouse and hitting the play button (center of the video) would result in a black box. But it did not crash, just nothing to see.

Thanks for the feedback. If this starts to reoccur, we can always open another ticket and chase it again.
Please include the portion of the mythfrontend logs around the crash. Also, was there any message on the console that did not get logged? Qt does that at times.
