U.I. buttons don't work after external DVD player returns.

After nothing more than popping in a DVD, watching it start, and quitting Xine with a 'q' keypress, none of the Myth buttons work - not in the setup dialogs, and not in the exit confirmation. No difference if I try the keyboard or the remote.
I say "don't work", I mean that none of them has or can get focus, so of course the arrow keys don't change the active widget. The only escape is to zap or kill the X server and start over.
Let me know what test/logs you need.
